Fifa World Cup 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Lenovo and FIFA presented their partnership ahead of the upcoming 2026 World Cup, with the company serving as the Official Technology Partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The agreement includes the provision of hardware infrastructure, software, and advanced solutions, aiming to revolutionize the experience for both fans and match officials.

The main announcement concerns the launch of Football AI, an integrated platform designed to optimize operational management and audience interaction. Thanks to generative AI, 3D digital avatars of the players will be created, faithfully replicating their physique and dimensions. This will improve the accuracy of offside replays and television data-information graphics.

For tournament management, Lenovo will implement the Intelligent Command Center: a system capable of monitoring every functional area of the event, producing daily summaries to contribute to decision-making processes. The technology will also be used to manage fan flow at the facilities through interactive maps and simulations of internal stadium dynamics.

One of the most anticipated innovations is the Referee View. Referees will still be equipped with body cams, but now the videos will be stabilized via AI and will broadcast high-quality video streams. This updated version of the Referee View aims to offer a unique and immersive perspective to a global audience estimated at over six billion viewers, while simultaneously increasing the transparency of officiating decisions.

Football officially enters the era of Artificial Intelligence. We will see if these new solutions are effectively successful in ensuring the smooth running of the world football event. See you at the FIFA World Cup 2026!
